Travelling With a Companion
- Many British patients travel with a partner or family member, and we encourage it.
A companion can sit in on consultations, help take notes, support you through the recovery days, and explore Delhi while you rest.
Can My Companion Be Present During My Treatment?
Yes for consultations, not for the procedure itself. Your companion can sit in on consultations and planning discussions, which many patients find helpful for remembering the detail afterwards, but during the procedure itself they wait in the clinic's reception area. They are welcome on the trip throughout.
Your companion needs their own visa and their own travel arrangements. If they are not travelling for medical treatment, the medical e-Visa category may not apply to them, they should confirm the appropriate visa category for their own trip.

What Can a Companion Actually Do to Help?
A companion can sit in on consultations to take notes and help you weigh the plan, accompany you to the clinic on surgery day and help you back afterwards, support you through recovery with soft meals and medication timing, and manage day-to-day errands while you rest. On open days they can explore Delhi with you once recovery permits.
1. At consultations, sit in on the assessment and planning discussion, take notes, and help you weigh the plan.
2. On surgery day, accompany you to the clinic and wait nearby; help you back to your accommodation afterwards.
3. Through recovery, help with soft meals, medication timing, and getting to follow-up appointments.
4. Day-to-day, manage practical errands so you can rest in the days right after surgery.
5. On open days, explore Delhi together once your recovery permits.

Where Should We Stay Near the Clinics?
Stay near whichever of our two Delhi clinics holds your appointments, Greater Kailash (GK) or Netaji Subhash Place (NSP), so your companion is not commuting across the city on appointment days. Confirm your scheduled location with your coordinator before booking, and couples and families can choose accommodation that suits both of you for the length of the stay.

Can My Companion Go Sightseeing While I Recover?
Yes, on the open days between appointments. A companion can explore Delhi itself, Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, or take a day trip to Agra or Jaipur, while you rest. We suggest keeping the days immediately after surgery for rest, saving sightseeing for the settled open days once you feel comfortable.
- In Delhi, Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, Connaught Place, and Chandni Chowk.
- Day trips, Agra and the Taj Mahal (around a 4-hour drive, or roughly 2 hours by train); Jaipur (around a 5-hour drive).
We suggest keeping the days immediately after surgery for rest, with sightseeing reserved for the settled open days once you feel comfortable.

Coordination With Your Care
If your companion attends consultations, they hear the same plan and after-care instructions you do, which helps once you are home. Your coordinator can confirm appointment times so your companion can plan the recovery support and any sightseeing around your clinical days.
