Hotel & Transfers for UK Patients, Where You Stay, How You Move, and Why It Matters to Your Recovery
- Most clinics that handle international patients treat the hotel and transfer arrangements as a logistics detail, "we've booked you somewhere nice, the driver will meet you." We take it seriously for two reasons that have nothing to do with marketing.
Why Your Hotel Actually Matters
Most clinics that handle international patients treat the hotel and transfer arrangements as a logistics detail, "we've booked you somewhere nice, the driver will meet you." We take it seriously for two reasons that have nothing to do with marketing.
The first is clinical. Patients recovering from full-arch surgery, bone grafting, or a staged full-mouth rehabilitation need specific conditions to recover well, a quiet room with a firm mattress, access to soft and blended food at the hours they actually eat, reliable hot water and air conditioning, a bathroom they can navigate with minor post-operative discomfort, and staff who will escalate to our clinic if something seems wrong at 2 AM rather than assuming the patient is fine.
The second is psychological. Most UK patients travelling for major dental work are in a heightened emotional state, not anxious exactly, but more aware, more vigilant. A hotel that feels foreign, chaotic, or low-quality during the first night after a long flight will flavour the whole visit. A hotel that feels familiar in its service standards, safe, quiet, and professionally run gives the patient a base from which the rest of the experience becomes manageable.
This page explains which hotels we use in Hyderabad and why, how airport transfer works, what moving around the city for clinic visits looks like, how we accommodate companions, and what to do if something about your stay is not working for you so we can fix it immediately rather than discovering it after you have gone home.
At Stunning Dentistry
The hotel is not a commodity. It is part of your clinical pathway, and we hold it to the same standard we hold our surgery.

Our Partner Hotels in Hyderabad
We work with a small number of four-star and five-star hotels in Hyderabad, all within a fifteen- to twenty-five-minute drive of our clinic in Banjara Hills. The specific hotel you are placed in depends on your case complexity, length of stay, companion arrangements, and occasionally seasonal availability during major conferences when the city books up.
Hotel tier one, five-star, clinical-visit distance:
These are our primary placement hotels for patients undergoing surgical phases, full-arch work, or multi-week stays. They offer comprehensive service standards comparable to a London or Edinburgh five-star, experienced international-patient handling, 24/7 room service, on-site medical concierge, and familiarity with our clinical protocols.
Typical brands include Taj Krishna in Banjara Hills, Park Hyatt Hyderabad in Road No. 2 Banjara Hills, ITC Kohenur in HITEC City, and Novotel HICC. Each of these is within fifteen to twenty-five minutes of our clinic depending on time of day and traffic.
Hotel tier two, four-star, clinical-visit distance:
These are our placement hotels for patients on shorter single-visit stays, for companions who prefer slightly more modest accommodation, and for secondary follow-up visits where the main surgical phase is behind you.
Typical brands include Radisson Blu Hyderabad, Marriott Executive Apartments Hyderabad, Hyatt Place Hyderabad Banjara Hills, and Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad.
What we do not use:
We do not place UK patients in guesthouses, serviced apartments with limited concierge capacity, or hotels below four-star classification. Cost is not the reason, the reason is that we cannot guarantee the clinical-support pathway (soft food, escalation protocols, 24-hour room service, airport transfer reliability) at that tier, and we consider that pathway non-negotiable.
Room configuration:
All room placements for surgical-phase patients are king-bed executive rooms or junior suites with separate sitting area. We do not place patients in the smallest room category even when they say cost is a concern, the additional square footage matters during a post-operative recovery week. Companion rooms are adjacent or the same room depending on preference.
At Stunning Dentistry
We audit our partner hotels quarterly. Any hotel whose standards have slipped is removed from the roster. 2 out of 10 across the last two years.

What Is Included in the Hotel Block Rate
Our partnership with these hotels gives our patients a block rate that typically runs 30-45% below the standard online rate during normal periods and includes a set of inclusions that a walk-in booking does not.
Included in the block rate:
- Buffet breakfast daily (international, Indian, and continental options; soft food pathway available for post-surgical patients).
- High-speed Wi-Fi in the room and public spaces.
- Bottled water replenished daily.
- Airport transfer on arrival and departure.
- One mid-stay hotel-to-clinic transfer per day during treatment weeks.
- Access to fitness centre and pool (for patients who are cleared for exercise, typically in the pre-surgical week or during later visits after healing).
- Evening turndown service.
- 24/7 room service.
- Soft-food and blended-food menu availability on request.
- Late checkout to midday on your departure day (subject to hotel occupancy).
Not included in the block rate:
- Alcoholic beverages (room service or mini-bar).
- Spa treatments.
- In-room dining outside the included room-service menu.
- Laundry (available as paid service).
- Personal telephone calls (though this is irrelevant for most patients who use their own mobile and hotel Wi-Fi).
Companion rates:
When a companion travels with you and shares your room, the rate is unchanged (no single-occupancy discount is taken off). If a companion requires their own room, the rate for the companion room is at the same block-rate tier.
Typical all-in hotel cost for a one-week stay in tier-one, block rate, single occupancy: £480-£820 for the week depending on hotel, season, and room category. For two weeks, £920-£1,520. For a dual-visit pattern (one week plus two weeks), £1,400-£2,300 total across the two trips. These figures are built into your landed-cost sheet so you see them as part of the total figure, not as a surprise.
At Stunning Dentistry
The block rate we pass to you is the block rate we pay. We do not mark up hotel costs. The hotel invoice is available for your records if you ask.

Airport Transfer, How It Actually Works
Your airport-to-hotel and hotel-to-airport transfers are coordinated by our dedicated driver network. These are not random taxi drivers from an aggregator app; they are drivers we work with consistently, who know our patient flow, and who carry the Stunning Dentistry identification.
Before you fly, we send you a travel confirmation pack with your driver's name, photograph, mobile number, and car registration. The driver is at the airport 45 minutes before your scheduled landing and monitors your flight status in real time, if you are delayed by three hours, he adjusts.
At arrival, after you clear immigration and baggage, you exit into the arrivals hall. Your driver is standing near the arrivals gate holding a placard with your name and our logo. He will help you with your luggage, walk you to the car, and drive you directly to the hotel.
The Hyderabad airport-to-Banjara Hills drive is typically 35-50 minutes depending on traffic. During peak times (weekday mornings, weekday evenings 6-8 PM), it can extend to 60-75 minutes. The car is air-conditioned, the driver does not smoke, and we provide bottled water for the journey.
On departure:
Your driver collects you from the hotel three hours before international departure time. This gives ample buffer for airport queues, baggage drop, and security. If you are on a late-evening flight (many UK patients return on the 11 PM or 1 AM flights that connect through Dubai or Doha), we adjust the collection time accordingly.
Mid-stay clinic transfers:
During treatment weeks, you travel between hotel and clinic daily or every other day depending on your schedule. These transfers are coordinated through the same driver (when he is available) or through a pool of driver partners. The transfer is built into your daily schedule, when you finish your clinic visit, your patient coordinator confirms your next transfer time.
The Banjara Hills hotel-to-clinic distance is 5-15 minutes depending on which tier-one hotel you are placed in. Tier-two hotels are sometimes further, 15-25 minutes, but still short by Hyderabad standards.
Evening and off-duty transport:
If you want to explore Hyderabad during non-clinical evenings or weekends (we always suggest the Golconda Fort, the Chowmahalla Palace, Laad Bazaar, or the excellent restaurants of Banjara Hills), your patient coordinator can arrange transport at the standard block rate. This is not charged as a clinical expense, it is simply a convenient way to book familiar drivers when you want to go somewhere.
At Stunning Dentistry
Our drivers complete a formal hospitality and clinical-awareness induction when they join the network. They understand that patients may be in post-operative discomfort and know how to drive accordingly.

Food, What Hotels Can Provide During Recovery
One of the most underestimated components of post-surgical recovery is food. A patient one day post-extractions, three days post-bone-graft, or a week into a full-arch provisional phase needs food that is soft, nutritious, warm or cool (not hot), and palatable. A hotel that cannot produce this well will leave the patient living on room-service soup for a week, which is fine for one day and demoralising after three.
Our partner hotels run a soft-food pathway that has been developed with our clinical team. The pathway has three tiers.
Tier one, first 48 hours post-surgery:
Completely blended, smooth, no chewable consistency. Typical items include lentil soups strained to a smooth consistency, blended chicken or fish broths, yogurt with honey and fresh banana blended smooth, mashed potato with butter, rice porridge, smoothies with protein powder, and room-temperature oatmeal. Served at slightly cooler than normal temperature to avoid irritation.
Tier two, 48 hours to 7 days post-surgery:
Soft but textured, gentle chewing on the non-surgical side is fine for most patients. Typical items include soft scrambled eggs, well-cooked pasta with gentle sauces, poached or steamed fish, tender stewed chicken, mashed vegetables, dal with soft rice, idli and uttapam (for patients who want south Indian cuisine), and soft cakes without nuts.
Tier three, 7 days to 14 days post-surgery:
Full soft diet with variety. Most things on the standard menu are acceptable as long as they are not hard-crust, chewy meat, or requiring incisor biting. Pizza is usually fine if cut small. Steak is usually not yet. Nuts and seeds are avoided to protect surgical sites.
For full-arch provisional patients:
During the provisional phase (weeks to months with PMMA bridges), the bridges are designed for function but are not as strong as the final zirconia restoration. Patients eat most foods but are advised to avoid hard foods (raw carrots, apples, hard bread crusts), sticky foods (toffee, certain chewing gums), and direct incisor biting on anything requiring significant force.
Our partner hotels will modify any dish on their standard menu to meet these tiers. You do not need to order from a restricted menu, you order what you want, and the kitchen adjusts preparation. This matters because eating "clinical food" for a week when you are recovering affects morale; eating familiar food prepared well for your recovery stage does not.
At Stunning Dentistry
Our partner hotel kitchens coordinate with our clinical team before every new patient arrives. They know your stage of recovery and adjust automatically.

Communication and Room Setup
When you check in to your hotel, a Stunning Dentistry patient coordinator meets you at reception, not at the clinic the next morning, but on arrival at the hotel. This meeting takes about 25 minutes and covers the practical setup for your stay.
Topics covered at the hotel welcome meeting:
- Your schedule for the first three days in detail.
- Your patient coordinator's direct mobile number, and the 24/7 emergency contact for after-hours issues.
- How to use the hotel room controls (air-conditioning, safe, telephone).
- Location of the nearest pharmacy (we can arrange deliveries, you do not need to walk to one).
- Your treatment-day transport schedule.
- Any clinical pre-surgery instructions (fasting windows, medication timing, what to wear on surgery day).
- A brief tour of hotel amenities if this is your first time.
The patient coordinator then leaves you to rest. We do not over-manage the experience, but we make sure the practical setup is clean.
Communication during your stay:
You can reach your patient coordinator by WhatsApp, phone, or email at any time. For after-hours issues, the 24/7 emergency line is answered by a clinical team member who can dispatch the duty dentist if needed.
Hotel Wi-Fi is reliable in all partner hotels. Some patients work remotely during their stay (particularly during the provisional phase weeks when clinical contact is lighter); all hotels have business-centre printing and quiet spaces for video calls.
Time zone note:
Hyderabad is GMT+5.30 (no daylight saving). During UK summertime, Hyderabad is 4.5 hours ahead of UK; during UK winter, Hyderabad is 5.5 hours ahead. This is relevant for calls with UK family, employers, or insurance providers during your stay. Your patient coordinator can book rooms for private calls if you have an important UK call during your visit.
At Stunning Dentistry
Our patient coordinators carry case-specific context. They know what you had done this morning, what is scheduled tomorrow, and what to watch for tonight. They are not a generic reception service.

Companions, Bringing Someone With You
A significant majority of our UK patients bring a companion, a spouse, adult child, parent, or close friend. We strongly support this. Post-surgical recovery is easier with someone familiar present, companions often act as the second pair of ears during clinical consultations where decisions need to be processed, and the shared experience often makes the whole trip more manageable psychologically.
What your companion experiences:
Companions travelling with our patients are accommodated in the same hotel, either sharing the patient's room or in an adjacent room. They have full access to all hotel amenities. They eat with the patient or independently as preferred.
We also offer optional companion programmes for days when the patient is in clinic and the companion has free time. These include arranged visits to Golconda Fort, the Salar Jung Museum, the Charminar, day trips to Ramoji Film City, or simply a driver-and-guide for a guided Hyderabad walk. These are at modest additional cost and are not part of the clinical fee, they are a convenience for companions.
What companions do during clinical consultations:
Companions are welcome in consultation rooms with the patient's consent. Many patients prefer to have a companion present during the diagnostic review and treatment-plan discussion so that there is a second person hearing the detail and asking the questions the patient might not think to ask. This is entirely the patient's choice.
Companions are not in the room during actual surgical procedures (sterile field, focus requirements), but they can wait in the clinic lounge and will be updated by the clinical team at agreed intervals during longer procedures.
Travel logistics for companions:
Each companion needs their own visa, the e-Medical Attendant Visa, which is the companion category paired to the patient's e-Medical Visa. See our Visa Support page for details.
Each companion is on their own flight booking but typically arrives and departs with the patient. Their flight cost, insurance, and incidental costs are their own responsibility, though we factor them into the landed-cost sheet if requested so the total family cost is visible.
At Stunning Dentistry
We have supported companions from eight-year-old children through to ninety-two-year-old grandparents. Every visit is treated as a family journey if that is how the patient wants to travel.

If Something Is Not Working
Sometimes despite our preparation, something about your stay does not work, the room is noisier than expected because of a neighbouring event, the hotel restaurant is not producing food at the quality you expected, the air-conditioning is behaving oddly. These things happen occasionally in any hotel anywhere in the world.
Tell us. Not the hotel desk first, tell your patient coordinator. Your patient coordinator has the direct authority and relationships to move you to a different room, move you to a different hotel entirely if needed, escalate to the hotel general manager, or arrange an alternative. This happens in the first few hours of your stay or immediately when the issue emerges, not at the end of your stay when it is too late to fix.
We do not consider any hotel issue too small to escalate. Patient experience during your stay is our direct responsibility, and we would rather move a patient to a different hotel on day two than have you spend a week in a room you are not happy with.
At Stunning Dentistry
We have moved patients to different hotels mid-stay on the small number of occasions when something was not right. This is included in the service, not an upsell, and there is no additional cost or awkwardness.

Security and Safety in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is a large Indian city of around eleven million people, with the same mixed urban character as any large global city. The Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills neighbourhoods where most of our patients stay, and where our clinic is located, are affluent residential and commercial districts with robust security infrastructure, good street lighting, and a low reported crime rate. The general character is calm and safe for visitors walking in the area during daylight hours and in the early evening.
Practical safety guidance:
- Use the hotel safe for your passport and spare cards. Carry the minimum you need when out.
- When walking outside the hotel in the evening, stick to well-lit main roads. Banjara Hills Road No. 1, Road No. 10, and Road No. 12 are lined with restaurants, shops, and foot traffic and are pleasant for evening walks.
- Traffic in India moves differently from the UK, pedestrians cross in groups and cars negotiate speed around them. If you are not used to this, use the hotel's driver to cross busier roads or for evening outings.
- Drinking water: stick to bottled water, which is universal in hotels and restaurants of the tier we use. Hotel ice is safe because it is made with filtered water.
- Street food is an experience worth having, but after surgery is not the day. Stick to hotel and established restaurant food during your immediate recovery week.
- Mosquitoes: Hyderabad has a relatively dry climate and mosquito exposure in Banjara Hills hotels is minimal, but the hotel room includes a plug-in mosquito repellent and the hotel will provide repellent on request.
Medical and emergency pathways:
If any medical issue arises that is not related to your dental treatment, stomach upset, headache, minor injury, the hotel has a partnership with a local hospital (typically AIG Hospitals, Apollo, or KIMS, all of which are world-standard tertiary care facilities) and can arrange a doctor visit to your room within two hours or a hospital consultation the same day. For dental or treatment-related issues, you contact your patient coordinator who routes you directly to our clinic or to the on-call duty dentist.
UK travel insurance:
Your UK travel insurance should cover medical emergencies unrelated to your dental treatment. Confirm your policy includes overseas medical cover and the cover limit is appropriate for India. Standard UK travel insurance with £2M medical cover is typically adequate.
At Stunning Dentistry
Our patient coordinators carry emergency pathway protocols for every category of issue you might encounter. The right call is routed to the right resource in minutes.
